All the doctors provide confidential contraceptive and emergency contraceptive advice to patients in all age groups. We have trained doctors and nurses who can fit contraceptive implants and a male doctor who can undertake vasectomy.  Ladies who wish a coil fitting can be referred to local services.

We have a family planning trained nurse who offer a comprehensive service and advice to both sexes. 

Nurses offer telephone consultations or booked appointments to provide your family planning and sexual health care - the receptionist will advise you on what kind of appointment you need.

The services they provide include:-

• Well Woman Checks
• Supply of Condoms
• Pregnancy Tests
• Menopause Advice
• Emergency Contraception
• Contraceptive Injections
• Contraceptive Pill
• Sexual Health Testing and Advice

Guidelines recommend all patients on the contraceptive pill attend an annual review to simplify this for patients we are setting up a new system for ordering contraceptive pill prescriptions.

If you are due for your annual review, wish to order your pill and fall into the following categories:

• Are aged 20 years or over
• You have been taking your pill for at least 9 months
• You are having no problems with your current contraception

You no longer need to book an appointment with the nurse.  Simply complete the form (copies are available at reception).  Either book an appointment with the HCA for your blood pressure check or use the pod in the waiting room.

Please note your contraceptive prescription will not be available until 48 hours after your BP check.
